Why Sunflowers?
There are several reasons why the sunflower is by far my favorite flower, and in turn, on the logo for my company. In order to explain, I must first lay out some facts about sunflowers and then apply it to my company.

Each sunflower is actually made up of thousands of tiny blooms. When looking at a sunflower from afar, it appears to be one large flower. However, when we look closely, you can see that the fuzzy center that appeared to be one is in fact made up of thousands of tiny flowers!
This is important because it can be representative of our lives. Oftentimes, people go through life searching for the big moment that defines them. They are only focusing on the big flower, when in fact, it is the tiny parts or the small moments in life that amount to the whole. One of my grandmother’s favorite quotes by Robert Brault sums this up much more clearly:
-
Each sunflower can contain as many as 1,000 to 2,000 seeds. Not only is the sunflower absolutely breathtaking, but it also produces an abundance of life. Furthermore, the sunflower seed has multiple purposes as it can be used for planting, to make oil, or for snacking on!

The French word for sunflower is “tournesol,” which means “turns with the sun”. Sunflowers display a behavior known as heliotropism, which means the flower buds and young blossoms face East in the morning but then move throughout the day to follow the sun. Even sunflowers recognize that they will grow stronger when they seek the light. Perhaps we would also have a stronger and more fulfilling life if we turned towards the light as well!
